Welcome to the Lapeer County Clerk's Office Vital Statistics online ordering system. Requests will be processed Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

This office maintains records of each birth and death that occurred in Lapeer County beginning in the year 1867 and each marriage record in Lapeer County since 1831. 

The first certified copy will be $15.00 and each additional copy of the same record requested at the same time will be $5.00.


REQUESTING A BIRTH OR DEATH CERTIFICATE:

Birth Certificates

Birth records are confidential records. Birth records 110 years and older may be issued upon written request and payment.  On written request, a search for a specific record will be made by the Clerk's staff. 

Proof of the requestor's eligibility to receive a birth record of less than 110 years will be required. Birth records are released only to those individuals which are listed on the record.  (Parent or person named on the record) The only exception to this would be if you have proper documentation proving that you are a Legal Guardian, Legal Representative, Court Representative or Heir of the deceased person named on the record. By State law, we are required to verify your identity, therefore we request to see your picture identification (driver’s license) prior to issuing a record to you.

If you are a legal guardian, legal representative or an heir of the person, additional documentation is required and may include:

• Death certificate of person for birth record you are trying to obtain, along with your birth record to prove you are an heir

• Custody orders
  
  
• Legal representative documents

Death Certificates

• These records are public and can be obtained during normal business hours.  No special identification is required for these records. 
  
  

Marriage Certificates

• These records are public and can be obtained during normal business hours.  No special identification is required for these records. 

An additional Non-Refundable $5 Service and Credit Card Processing Fee will be applied to all online orders.
